Message from WFW Founder & CEO Hernán Luis y Prado
Dear Supporters of Workshops for Warriors,
I hope this message finds you well and thriving. It is with pride and gratitude that I write to you today, reflecting on our recent summer class graduation ceremony. As our newest graduates received their certificates, everyone in attendance – family, friends, WFW alumni, staff, board members, and supporters – witnessed the life-changing impact we continue to collectively achieve. I would like to extend our thanks to The Boeing Company for their continued generosity. Ward Wilson of Boeing presented WFW with a check for $150,000 at our graduation ceremony in support of women in manufacturing.
With the addition of our summer graduates, Workshops for Warriors now boasts 1,163 alumni, carving out successful careers in advanced manufacturing, and together, they hold a staggering 13,552 nationally recognized manufacturing certifications.
This milestone would not have been possible without your unwavering support and belief in our mission. Every veteran we train, every certification earned, is a testament to your commitment to changing lives and the critical fortification of our nation’s manufacturing workforce.
I am also pleased to share that the coverage of my recent feature at TEDx San Diego has been released. During my talk, I delved into the idea of veterans being trained to be the answer to America’s shortage of manufacturing workers. It was an opportunity to spread the message of resilience, and the incredible potential our veterans possess. Together, we have not only envisioned change but have actively ignited a movement.
Yet, our work is far from over. The manufacturing industry in the United States continues to suffer an astonishing 803,000 unfilled jobs due to the absence of an advanced manufacturing training pipeline. Workshops for Warriors stands as the beacon of hope, the solution to this pressing issue.
Today, I humbly ask you to continue your invaluable support by contributing to our cause. Your donations will fund scholarships and support the critically needed expansion of our programs. Together, we can bridge the gap, provide opportunities, and change the lives of countless veterans while strengthening our nation’s manufacturing sector.
Please, let us not falter in our mission. Donate now and be part of something truly transformative. Together, we can build a brighter future for our veterans and our great nation.
Respectfully,
Hernán Luis y Prado
