Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer at Workshops for Warriors!

Join in our mission to train and support veterans, transitioning service members, and other hardworking students on their path to careers in advanced manufacturing.

Your time and skills can make a lasting impact, whether you’re mentoring students, assisting in workshops, or supporting events. Together, we can equip America’s heroes with the tools they need for success. Please view our open volunteer positions below.

You can support the event by joining the planning committee or volunteering on the day of the event. Opportunities include setup, event support, and teardown. The event will take place on May 31, 2025, aboard the USS Midway Museum.

Assist with the preparation and breakdown of events by helping with the setup of equipment, decorations, and materials before the event begins, ensuring everything is in place for a smooth experience.

Join the WFW team at community events year-round to help raise awareness of our mission. Many opportunities take place on weekends.

Mentor a student in our program for four months, providing guidance and support as needed. This is a great opportunity for corporations with multiple employees interested in getting involved.

Share your expertise by offering insights into the interview process, conducting resume reviews, and guiding veterans toward success. Mock interviews are held three times a year and as needed throughout the program.

Share your expertise by leading a workshop on soft skills, life skills, or employment readiness. Workshops are offered year-round.

Workshops for Warriors maintains a clothing closet to provide students with interview attire, job apparel, and cocktail wear for networking events, as well as everyday clothing. Donations and support can be one-time or ongoing, with quarterly opportunities based on your schedule.

Prepare, deliver, and serve lunch for 50-100 students during workshops. This opportunity is available year-round and is perfect for service groups or organizations looking to give back.

Manufacturing companies can host a tour to introduce students to career opportunities in welding and machining. This experience showcases workplace operations and fosters connections between students and employees.

Pack grocery bags with essentials for students to host a holiday meal. These meal packs will be distributed for special occasions like Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, the 4th of July, and more.

Share your personal journey and experiences while representing Workshops for Warriors at an event. This is an opportunity to inspire others, raise awareness about our mission, and engage with the community to build support for our programs.

As part of our social media efforts, you will capture photos and record videos of student activities and events, ensuring high-quality edits for both. You’ll create engaging video content tailored for social media and schedule posts across all platforms.

You will develop blog content that showcases student stories, shares the latest advanced manufacturing news, and highlights upcoming events. Conducting interviews with students, you’ll capture their experiences, challenges, and achievements, transforming these stories into compelling and impactful content. In addition, you’ll assist in designing and updating marketing materials that align with Workshops for Warriors’ branding and messaging strategy.
