Message from WFW Founder & CEO Hernán Luis y Prado
Dear Friends,
First and foremost, I want to thank all of you who joined us aboard the Inspiration Hornblower on April 21 for Workshops for Warriors’ 15th Birthday Ball. The event was blessed with perfect weather and smooth seas. More than 300 attendees enjoyed great food and entertainment while providing financial support for our shared cause to rebuild American manufacturing with veterans.
Our Spring 2023 graduates are placed and working in advanced manufacturing careers around the nation and our Summer class cohorts are already learning the fundamentals that will transform their futures.
I am humbled to share that I was a featured speaker at TEDx San Diego on June 11. This opportunity allowed me to share the WFW story and our vision for building the advanced manufacturing pipeline our country desperately needs, solving the advanced manufacturing skills gap with veterans.
Last month I traveled to Washington D.C. to testify before Congress on veteran issues and seek to enlist the support of our legislators to accelerate our growth plans for additional WFW locations across America. It was an honor to appear before the House Subcommittee on Veterans’ Affairs, and I am grateful to Congressman Mike Levin for inviting me to speak in front of the committee. We look forward to expanding WFW operations and being a force multiplier for positive change on veteran transitions to meet the critical manufacturing workforce needs of our nation.
It is an exciting time for Workshops for Warriors and now more than ever, your financial support is critical to growing our proven school and building a path to combatting the projected 2.1 million unfilled American manufacturing jobs by 2030.
