Workshops for Warriors (WFW), is a State-licensed, board governed, fully audited, 501 (c)(3) nonprofit school founded in 2008. The mission of Workshops for Warriors is to provide quality training, accredited STEM educational programs, and opportunities to earn third party nationally recognized portable, stackable credentials to enable veterans, transitioning service members, and other students to be successfully trained and placed in their chosen advanced manufacturing career field.

Throughout its history, WFW has remained committed to providing training free of charge to veterans who do not have access to living wage jobs due to multiple barriers.

We currently do not receive any federal, state, or municipal funding. In order to continue this mission we are privately funded by corporations, foundations, and individuals. In addition, we also actively partner with military, business, industry, and education sectors, as well as other nonprofits. All of these partners are often able to develop early relationships with students.

In 2016, Workshops for Warriors received its license to operate by the Bureau of Post-Secondary Private Education and the school became eligible for GI Bill® tuition reimbursement in April 2018. However, we continue to fulfill our mission to provide free training and education to Veterans who are ineligible for GI Bill® benefits.

With the help of our donors, Workshops for Warriors offers two primary programs: advanced machining and welding/fabrication which is taught on the latest cutting-edge equipment with some of the best instructors in the world. All credentials earned at Workshops for Warriors are portable, stackable and are accredited by The American Welding Society (AWS), the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS), SolidWorks, CNC Software (Mastercam), Immerse2Learn, and the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3).

“If I could fill my company with nothing but people coming back from the military, I would. They work hard, they’d do whatever it takes, and all they want is an opportunity and a chance.”
